Adults refer to animals or humans which have attained their maximum developmental stage. Adult is a term applied to human beings in order to define moral and social concepts. Legal adult means a person has reached the age of maturity. They are considered an independent, self-sufficient person as well as responsible. They may also be regarded as a "major". Age 18 is as the age of legal maturity, but the definition of adulthood can vary depending on the country, rights of the law or the development of a person's psychological.

The lifespan of human beings Adulthood refers to the age in which the person is at the point of complete intellectual and physical maturation. Most people think that adulthood begins at age 20 or greater. In general, middle age is around 40 years old, and is followed by around 60. There are three primary levels of adulthood: early adulthood (18 to mid-30s), middle adulthood (mid-30s to mid-60s) as well as late adulthood (mid-60s up to the point of death). As we enter early adulthood the body is at its physical maturity to the maximum. Yet, our body's size and weight could grow. In young adulthood our physical capabilities are at their best, including muscle strength, reaction time as well as sensory capabilities, heart function.
