Anika Noni Rose is an American actor and singer. Most famously, she is the vocalist of Tiana In The Princess and the Frog The one and only African American Disney Princess. She was named a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robinson in from the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on September 6, 1972) is an American actor and a singer. The most famous role she has played is that of Tiana the Disney's first African American princess from The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends named her the 2011's most popular character. Her most well-known role is the character of Lorrell Robinson as the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) and the character she played as LaVerne the Jukebox Ganner in the Starz television series Power. In addition to her acting, she is known for the roles she performed in theater. This includes Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway version of Caroline or Change (2005) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in a Musical award was given and Beneatha in the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2017) for which she received the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were presented.
